Extraperlo is a curatorial platform founded in 2019 by Spanish designer Jorge Penadés. The goal is to challenge the systems, structures and codes that govern contemporary design, offering a progressive alternative beyond commercial and institutional contexts.

The objective for this upcoming edition, co-curated by Tomás Alonso and Jorge Penadés, is to shine a spotlight on some of the hidden faces in the design industry. We are interested in giving a voice to those that often work behind the scenes at some of the leading offices around the globe.
The context of the Museo Nacional de Artes Decorativas offers an opportunity for participants to analyse what has been the role of this museum in the past and also suggest what could become in the future. close
